Job Description The Records Management Document Control (RMDC) Clerk collects, maintains, and distributes all records and documents as required.
Maintains a comprehensive filing system and computer database for all documents to be retained in the records management center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Processes active and inactive records, which includes determining records have the appropriate markings, checking for accuracy and completeness, sorting, indexing, attributing in Documentum for tracking purposes, labeling, and filing.
Review record properties for accuracy and ensuring records received meet requirements prior to processing into Documentum.
Responds to customer requests for records (includes researching, retrieving, providing copy of the record requested, and verification of classification with the stamping of appropriate markings on the document).
Digitizing (scanning hard copy to electronic) documents in preferred format.
Determines and assigns, as directed, the correct NARA-approved DOE Record Retention Schedule for records categorization, tracking, filing, and disposition.
Assists with the disposition of records, including disposal of records or shipping records to the appropriate Federal Records Center.
Provides input for the development of departmental procedures as needed.
Provides document reproduction and mail support when required.
Maintains a safe working environment.
Demonstrates awareness and implementation of applicable environmental, safety, and health (ES&H) requirements while also alerting co-workers of such requirements as needed.
Demonstrates the ability to get along with co-workers, customers, and visitors.
Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, including the creation and modification of PDF documents.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
Must be able to obtain/maintain DOE Q clearance Desirable Skills Documentum experience is preferred.
Prefer three years of related work experience.
